Areas of Coverage
West Bay Sanitary District provides wastewater collection and conveyance services to the City of Menlo Park, Atherton, and Portola Valley, and areas of East Palo Alto, Woodside and unincorporated San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The District conveys raw wastewater, via the Menlo Park Pump Station and force main, to Silicon Valley Clean Water (SVCW) for treatment and discharge to the San Francisco Bay.
Menlo Park
Menlo Park, a Tree City USA community, is a quiet yet vibrant city of pleasant, tree-lined neighborhoods and friendly people. Menlo Park is conveniently located between San Francisco and Oakland on the North and San Jose on the South.
Atherton
Atherton is located on the peninsula nestled between the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The Town begins in the flatlands then moves westward to the hills, until it reaches Highway 280. Beautiful foliage, elegant gardens and heritage trees dominate this quaint small community.
Portola Valley
Surrounded by wooded hills, this pristine and picturesque town of 4500 residents is located just west of Standford University in a green and gold valley astride the world-famous San Andreas Fault.
East Palo Alto
Trade has alternatively focused on ranching, brick manufacturing, farming, servicing travelers of Bayshore Highway and Dumbarton Bridge, and flower growing. At present there is a mix of small industrial, agricultural and commercial businesses.
