West Bay Sanitary District is a joint partner, with eleven other local agencies, with South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA). SBWMA manages the collection of recycling, compost and garbage to approximately 2,000 WBSD rate payers. Recycling, organic materials and solid waste (garbage and recycling) collection services, as well as operations at the Shoreway Recycling and Disposal Center in San Carlos, California, are provided by Recology San Mateo County and South Bay Recycling, respectively.
